ABOUT DR NASSER LAFTA:

Gastroenterologist

MBBS, FRACP


Nasser is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with a particular interest in colorectal cancer screening and prevention, interventional colonoscopy, and eosinophilic oesophagitis. He takes pride in managing gastrointestinal problems and detecting and preventing colorectal cancer. In addition, he enjoys seeing his patients progress through the journey of diagnosis and treatment to help improve their quality of life.


Nasser received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Medical Sciences and Technology in Sudan in 2008. He completed his general medicine and gastroenterology training in Queensland at the Prince Charles Hospital and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

After completing an advanced luminal endoscopy fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, he moved to Victoria and completed his second, advanced luminal endoscopy fellowship year at the Alfred Hospital.

Now, Nasser divides his time between consulting with Colonoscopy Clinic and QEII Jubilee Hospital in Brisbane.

When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and running. He is also fluent in Arabic.
